My Hill Eco-Lodge Story
From a single boat ride to a dream of excellence; every guest here is part of our journey!
The Beginning
In 2008, our founder Gervais Hafashimana began his hospitality career as a resort manager in his local community. When that job ended, he didn’t give up. Instead, he set out to create opportunities for his local people, focusing on job creation, career guidance for youth and women, and uplifting the community.
Humble Steps
He began with simple boat rides on Lake Ruhondo, guiding tourists through the stunning Twin Lakes. In 2018, he opened a small restaurant serving fresh meals from a kitchen garden, and soon added two guest rooms.
Growing the Vision
From those beginnings, My Hill Eco-Lodge has grown into 12 comfortable rooms with breathtaking lake and volcano views. We are proud to raise hospitality standards in the Twin Lakes region, ensuring guest comfort and promoting fresh, locally sourced food.
Today & Tomorrow
Our lodge now plays a key role in Rwanda’s hospitality industry, providing jobs, supporting farmers, and welcoming travelers from all over the world. The journey continues with a new 20-room branch opening soon in Musanze town, aiming to become a high-end destination that serves, inspires, and empowers.
