Our Story
The journey of My Hill Eco-Lodge began with a simple vision: creating opportunities for local people while showcasing the natural beauty of the Twin Lakes region. Founded by Gervais Hafashimana, the lodge grew from humble beginnings into a welcoming hospitality destination that serves travelers from around the world. Every step of our growth has been guided by a passion for community development, guest satisfaction, and responsible tourism.
From Humble Beginnings to a Growing Vision
In 2008, after working in hospitality management, Gervais returned to his community with a desire to create meaningful employment opportunities. He started by offering boat rides on Lake Ruhondo, sharing the beauty of the area with visitors. In 2018, he opened a small restaurant featuring fresh ingredients from a kitchen garden and later expanded into guest accommodation. Today, My Hill Eco-Lodge proudly welcomes travelers seeking unforgettable experiences in one of Rwanda’s most scenic destinations.
